7 months and all over the place

Today was the most challenging monthly birthday photo session so far!  Nate never holds still and today was no exception.  Aaron and I tried our best to wrangle him with no luck.  I usually pick a couple of pictures to put on flickr but the entire series makes us laugh so I uploaded them all.

loving the camera

Nate has a basketball hoop he loves to play with.  I tried several times to get a video clip of him playing with the hoop.  But every time he saw the camera, this is what happened.

Sick Baby

Thankfully Nate is on the road to recovery, but last week was not a fun week in our house.  We knew something was up when he couldn't sleep last Sunday night.  And every day I picked up at daycare, another baby had gone home sick that day.  By Wednesday it was our turn and Nate came home with a fever.  I took him to the doctor Thursday morning convinced he had an ear infection.  When the doctor checked his ears and gave the all clear, all I could think was, "Oh my gosh, I'm the first time mother who just took her son to the doctor for a cold."  But then his test results for RSV came back positive.  And while I wasn't happy he was sick, at least we knew what it was and could do something about it.

And this is what we do:

Despite what it looks like in the picture, he hates the nebulizer and the treatment sessions are a heartbreaking exercise.  We hate watching him scream but we know it's making him better.  Hopefully only a few more days of treatment!

This seemed like a good idea until he realized he could just spin his seat around to get away from the nebulizer.

Hitting the slopes

Last weekend we took Nate on his first ski trip.  We're looking forward to when he's old enough to join in the skiing fun.
My cousins rented a house in West Virginia right on the mountain and we had a nice weekend with their family.  Baby Nate (as the kids call him) loved being around his big cousins and they were great with him.  Aaron and I were amazed at how fast the Pratt kids have grown up.  When Aaron met RJ for the first time, he was Nate's age.  Now he's beating Aaron down the mountain.

doctor's appointment

Nate went in for his six-month check up today.  Everything looks good.  He's still a little guy but his growth is on track and he's proportionate.  He weighed in at 16 pounds 5 ounces (25th percentile) and he's 26 inches long (30th percentile).

We're on the watch for his top teeth.  Last night he was fussy when we put him down and his top gums are swollen.  Tylenol helped with the pain and we're expecting those top teeth to start poking through pretty soon.
