Easter

This past weekend, Nate's Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Flannery and Uncle Cullen all came to visit. We had a very busy weekend!

On Saturday, Grandma hosted an Easter Egg hunt for Nate and his friends.  Unfortunately it was pouring rain so we had to move it inside.  Here's how that went:

Guinness thought the eggs were his toys and insisted on trying to eat them. So I ran around after him, Clorox wiping the eggs off.

Audrey was far more interested in Nate's toys than the eggs.

Sam was a man on a mission, collecting every egg he could find until his bucket was too heavy to carry.

And Nate was uninterested and pretty clueless. He was more interested in the Elmo balloon left over from Charlie and Cooper's birthday party in March.

And then Aaron made the grown ups mimosas and omelets.  So a good time was had by all.

On Sunday, the Easter Bunny visited Nate and brought him a lot of fun things.  For all of our Easter pictures - http://www.flickr.com/photos/ajdavis/sets/72157626582725876/show/

And although he looks sad here, he was quite happy now that he's figured out how to unwrap gifts.

We went to the Pratt's for Easter dinner.  Richard and Cyndy are kind enough to host us every year and this year Nate got to join in the fun egg hunt with his older cousins.

And in a very sweet moment, Shailey saw he only had a few, and gave him two of her eggs.

Passover

This past week brought us two Spring holidays - Passover and Easter. We hosted our annual Passover Seder last Monday night. This year we were blessed with the company of 9 adults and three little ones. Sam was the hit of the meal, munching on matzoh and following along with his own Haggadah.

Nate fell asleep before any of the excitement. We're hoping he's learned the Four Questions in time for next year's seder.

White House tour

On Sunday, we were fortunate to have access to the White House Spring Garden Tour thanks to our friend Dori.  The day was a little overcast but the grounds were lovely and we had a great afternoon.  The Big Man and his family weren't onsite but we did get to see the First Dog.  Too bad Nate's too little to remember it!

I could certainly get used to this view.

The Rear View Mirror

As I was driving home from daycare yesterday, I looked in my mirror and was surprised to see our baby is now a little boy.  When did that happen?

Vilma

Because she was like the 5th member of our family, we want to take a moment to remember Aaron's car Vilma.

We'll miss our road trips, her assistance in renovating two kitchens and of course the good memories she's played an integral part in - like driving home from our wedding and bringing Nate home from the hospital.  But we certainly won't miss the repair bills that have likely paid for our mechanic's summer home.  After another costly repair quote from Mike, the mechanic, we decided it was time for a new family car and traded ol Vilma in.

No one's told Guinness yet, we're not sure he was ready to say goodbye.

doggus, you can drive my car...

Day-by-Day - 3 months in

In January I set out to capture Nate on camera at least once a day for the entire calendar year.  I'm happy to report this project is in good shape.

There have been some close calls, notice a few shots of him sleeping in his crib.  And I don't know what was going on on February 5th, but I must have been too busy to remember to capture it.

I never found a good place to put all the pictures for sharing so they remain on flickr.  Although laid out in a tiled format like this actually looks pretty cool.  I can't wait to see what 364 (darn you feb 5th) of these pictures look like.  http://www.flickr.com/photos/ajdavis/sets/72157625765726000/with/5439923612/
