The Rear View Mirror

As I was driving home from daycare yesterday, I looked in my mirror and was surprised to see our baby is now a little boy.  When did that happen?

Vilma

Because she was like the 5th member of our family, we want to take a moment to remember Aaron's car Vilma.

We'll miss our road trips, her assistance in renovating two kitchens and of course the good memories she's played an integral part in - like driving home from our wedding and bringing Nate home from the hospital.  But we certainly won't miss the repair bills that have likely paid for our mechanic's summer home.  After another costly repair quote from Mike, the mechanic, we decided it was time for a new family car and traded ol Vilma in.

No one's told Guinness yet, we're not sure he was ready to say goodbye.

doggus, you can drive my car...

Day-by-Day - 3 months in

In January I set out to capture Nate on camera at least once a day for the entire calendar year.  I'm happy to report this project is in good shape.

There have been some close calls, notice a few shots of him sleeping in his crib.  And I don't know what was going on on February 5th, but I must have been too busy to remember to capture it.

I never found a good place to put all the pictures for sharing so they remain on flickr.  Although laid out in a tiled format like this actually looks pretty cool.  I can't wait to see what 364 (darn you feb 5th) of these pictures look like.  http://www.flickr.com/photos/ajdavis/sets/72157625765726000/with/5439923612/

Waving?

Nate started waving this weekend, so cute. We don't think he's waving as in "hello" instead we think he's saying "bring that to me." As shown in this short video, he waved at me when he wanted more banana.

Seriously, the kid never stops moving.

We eventually gave up on the chair and moved him to our bed. Moderate success.

Elmo, animals and Aunt Meghan

A lot of excitement this weekend!  Today Nate met Elmo. His friends Cooper and Charlie turned one and they had a Sesame Street party with a very special guest. Nate seemed to like the big red guy. His poor little friend Ramsey didn't fare as well - can you guess which one is Ramsey in this picture?

Nate was more impressed by his weekend visitor - Aunt Meghan.

With Meghan in town and nice weather, we thought it would a good time to take Nate on his very first trip to the zoo. He fell asleep before we made it to the kid's part of the zoo where he could get up close and personal with the animals. But he seemed to enjoy what he saw and we're looking forward to taking him back again soon.

7 months and all over the place

Today was the most challenging monthly birthday photo session so far!  Nate never holds still and today was no exception.  Aaron and I tried our best to wrangle him with no luck.  I usually pick a couple of pictures to put on flickr but the entire series makes us laugh so I uploaded them all.
